Simmons & Simmons recently announced the appointment of Intellectual Property partner Patsy Lau to its Hong Kong office.

Patsy holds a JD degree and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Litigation. She is dual-qualified to practice in both Hong Kong and California, USA. Her extensive practice encompasses trademark clearance, prosecution, portfolio strategy, and contentious proceedings. With rights of audience in the High Court of Hong Kong, she also provides specialist IP advice for M&A and IPO transactions. Her sector expertise spans financial services, life sciences, media and technology, luxury goods, and fast-moving consumer goods.

Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons, Patsy practiced at Deacons in Hong Kong for more than 25 years. She is a council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Trade Mark Practitioners and served as its President from 2009 to 2011.
