Eversheds Sutherland has augmented its intellectual property disputes capability by recruiting partners Ruth Hoy and Huw Cookson from DLA Piper. The duo will join the firm’s London-based IP team.

Ruth Hoy brings over 25 years of experience at the forefront of UK and European IP litigation. Formerly the Managing Partner of DLA Piper’s London office, she specializes in the retail, media, and entertainment sectors. Hoy is particularly noted for her expertise in urgent relief applications, including search orders and site-blocking injunctions against infringing digital material.

Huw Cookson is a brand protection and enforcement specialist. His experience includes securing landmark "persons unknown" injunctions to combat counterfeiting and designing large-scale enforcement programs. Prior to his private practice, Cookson served as in-house IP counsel at Tesco.
